No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

The Blaine County Republican Central Committee and Blaine County Republican Women are partnering to host a forum featuring guest speaker Anne Simpson of the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS).

Anne’s presentation will take us from the 1972 enactment of Title IX to the current state of the female category in sport. Fair, safe sport for girls and women is a hot topic, and Anne will bring the audience up to speed on transgender policy and what is being done to end discrimination against female athletes. She will also give an update on lawsuits filed against the NCAA and Mountain West Conference.

This presentation will take place following a short regular meeting of the Blaine County Republican Central Committee on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The meeting will start at 7:00 pm, and Anne’s presentation will begin at 7:30 pm. The location of this meeting is the Minnie Moore Room at the Community Campus, 1050 Fox Acres Road in Hailey.
