Blaine County Republicans are making a comeback!

We have important news to share that you probably won’t read about in the Idaho Mountain Express.

The Republican Party in Blaine County is making a comeback!

At the primary election on May 21st, 14 of the 16 precinct positions in Blaine County were filled with what are called Precinct Committee Officers. This new group of grassroots volunteers will be the backbone of our county’s Republican Party for the next two years, and they will be working hard to register Republican voters, elect principled candidates, and promote conservative values.

If you would like to get involved, send us an email or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Of the 9 countywide elected officials in Blaine County, currently only one of them is a Republican – the coroner. You’ve probably been feeling like all hope is lost. Democrats continue to win race after race in our county – commissioner seats, sheriff, prosecuting attorney, assessor, clerk, and treasurer are all positions currently held by Democrats. And you know why? Because Republicans don’t win races in which there aren’t Republican candidates.

None of the Democrats currently serving as elected officials in Blaine County ran against a Republican when they were elected. For the November 2024 general election, only 1 of 4 countywide races will feature a Republican candidate. We simply cannot let this happen again.

The primary responsibilities of the Blaine County Republican Central Committee (BCRCC) are to ensure that conservative Republican candidates are on the ballot, and then we must encourage our neighbors to vote for those candidates.

The new BCRCC will significantly raise the profile of the GOP in the Wood River Valley, register new Republican voters, recruit conservative candidates, and build a stronger Blaine County Republican Party. This week, we launched a new website at www.5bgop.com where we will communicate regularly about events, volunteer opportunities, and other important news.

After the May primary election, the new central committee met and elected officers. Following is the group of patriots who will be the leaders of the Blaine County Republican Party for the next two years.

Heather Lauer, Chair
Adam Chafetz, Vice Chair
Andrea Parker, Treasurer
Brian Opp, Secretary
Darcy Creech, State Committeewoman
Eric Parker, State Committeeman
Tania Lopez, State Youth Committeewoman

You can view the full list of Precinct Committee Officers here.

We would also like to congratulate the new officers of the Legislative District 26 Central Committee which includes Blaine, Jerome, and Lincoln Counties:

Chair: Lyle Johnstone (Jerome County)
Vice Chair: Cathy Roemer (Jerome County)
Secretary: Carl Legg (Lincoln County)

Our committees will work together to promote the Republican Party in our region.

We know that Republicans have better ideas than the Democrats, and now we have a full team in place to ensure we can win races and have better representation in city, county, and state government.

We are hoping you will be our partner as we work to relaunch the Blaine County Republican Party. Whether you can provide financial support, lend your talents to volunteer for voter outreach efforts, or perhaps you would consider running for office in the future, we need you involved.

Get in touch and let us know how you can help. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Also, mark your calendar for our next Regular Meeting which will take place on July 10 at 7 pm in the Large Commissioners Meeting Room at the Blaine County Courthouse in Hailey. An official meeting announcement and agenda will be published soon.

It’s a new day, and we hope you’ll be part of it. We look forward to you joining us.
