Which Role Fits You?
County Commissioner: Sets county policy, adopts the annual budget, oversees county departments and services, makes land-use and planning decisions, and guides the long-term direction of Blaine County.
County Clerk: Responsible for administering elections, maintaining official records, and ensuring compliance with state and local election laws. The clerk also serves as the county’s chief record keeper, supports the board of commissioners, and manages public access to documents and government proceedings.
County Treasurer: Collects and safeguards county revenues, manages public funds, and invests county resources in accordance with state law. The treasurer also oversees property tax billing and distribution and ensures the county’s finances are accurate, transparent, and accountable.
County Assessor: Responsible for valuing all taxable property within the county in a fair and uniform manner to ensure an equitable property tax system. The assessor maintains property records, applies exemptions, and works to ensure assessments comply with state law.
County Coroner: Responsible for investigating deaths that are sudden, unattended, or suspicious, determining the cause and manner of death, and working with law enforcement and medical professionals as required by law.
